How to Properly Do a Push-Up

If there was a Mt. Rushmore for exercises, the push-up would certainly be on it. We’ve been doing push-ups since gym class in elementary school, and it’s still one of the most effective exercises when it comes to building upper body strength, increasing your body’s metabolism, and strengthening your core.

While push-ups are a relatively simple exercise, doing them improperly can cause some damage to your back. To give you a demonstration on how to properly do a push-up, we reached out to Physical Therapist, Colin Hoobler, and asked for his expertise.
