Going Red for Healthy Hearts in Boise

"How to stay active at work" Workshop

“How to stay active at work” Workshop

Here’s the scary statistic: Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women. That’s why we’re so fond of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women. Their mission is to give women the information and resources needed to prevent and fight heart disease. With that in mind, a crew of our employees got actively involved in the Go Red for Women Luncheon in Boise, ID.

Leading the charge for PacificSource was one of our Boise managers, Marnie Packard. Not only did she get our employees inspired to help, but she also chaired the event for the American Heart Association. To go along with Marnie, we offered attendees the chance to share an idea to prevent heart disease, gave away heart healthy recipes, gave the chance to play our healthy trivia game, and our Boise Wellness Consultant, Suzie Owen led a workshop on “Staying Active at Work” (complete with printed versions of our infographic: How to get 30 minutes of exercise at your desk). All and all, it was a barrage of heart healthy activities!

A huge thanks to the folks at the American Heart Association for having us at such a fantastic event. And most importantly, we’d like to encourage all women to take a few minutes and learn how you can maintain excellent heart health. Learn more at https://www.goredforwomen.org/.
